CRIRSCO Committee for Mineral Reserves International Reporting Standards Chairperson, Garth Kirkham, visited China as a guest of China Association of Mineral Appraisers (CAMRA) to discuss progress in CAMRA’s application for membership of CRIRSCO as China’s NRO. At a meeting on 4 August, with Wang Shouxiang President, Wu Haiyang, Chairman, Ju Jianhua, Executive Vice President and Zhang Dawei, Vice President of CAMRA, details of the then pending formal application for CAMRA to join CRIRSCO were discussed. Also present by Zoom link was Peter Stoker coordinator of the CRIRSCO China working group.
The following day Garth Kirkham participated in a public meeting to launch The Chinese Code for Reporting of Exploration Targets, Exploration Results, Minerals Resources and Mineral Reserves (The CAMRA Code).
The CAMRA Code has been accepted by CRIRSCO as being suitable to support for CAMRA’s pending application to join CRIRSCO. Garth also delivered a keynote address: CRIRSCO – More than a governance system, at this launch meeting.
