It is with regret that we announce the removal of The Mongolian Professional Institute of Geosciences
and Mining (MPIGM) as a Member of CRIRSCO.
This decision follows extended efforts over several years, by the current and previous CRIRSCO
Executive, to resolve issues related to MPIGM’s failure to fulfil the requirements of CRIRSCO
membership. As a consequence, the Member Disciplinary process, as laid out in CRIRSCO’s General
Operating By-Law No. 1 (GOBL1) was initiated on 20th May 2026. This process concluded on 8th
September 2026 when a Special Resolution – requiring a majority of at least two-thirds of those voting
to be approved – was approved by Members at an in person Special General Meeting of CRIRSCO
Members in Istanbul.
Relevant details on the CRIRSCO website will be updated in the coming weeks.
The CRIRSCO Executive will continue to engage with other organisations of mining professionals in
Mongolia to try to reestablish Mongolia’s representation on CRIRSCO.
